Walking Tour: Oaklawn Cemetery

Explore one of Tampa’s most intriguing landmarks on a guided 90-minute walking tour of Oaklawn Cemetery, the city’s oldest public burial ground. Established for “white and slave, rich and poor,” Oaklawn holds the stories of Tampa’s earliest days, including 13 mayors, a Florida governor, Vicente Martinez-Ybor, enslaved people, pirates, and more than 200 Native Americans. Guests will visit notable sites and learn how these figures shaped the city’s past. The tour begins at 10 a.m., is limited to 25 participants, and requires reservations. Comfortable shoes and outdoor attire are recommended. Meeting place: South Entrance, 606 E. Harrison St.
