SPC Japanese Festival

Join us for an afternoon of Japanese culture featuring activities and demonstrations by visiting artists from Japan. Learn about Japanese origami, brush painting, tattooing, ikebana, SPC’s study abroad programs, and more! Experience the Japanese traditions of ink painting, Noh theater, and tea with the visiting artists: Munenori Takeda will demonstrate the traditional Noh theater performance and chanting. Scara Abe returns to LRMA to show her hand-painted sumi-e kimonos and how they are worn. Michihito Inbe will talk about the traditional Japanese tea ceremony and its history.
