Playwright Nan Colton as Mary Cassatt

Cassatt by director, storyteller, actress and arts educator Nan Colton. Nan will bring Mary Stevenson Cassatt, an American painter and printmaker to life. Mary Cassatt lived much of her adult life in France where she befriended Edgar Degas and exhibited her art among the Impressionists. Her images often reflected the lives of women, with particular emphasis on the bonds between mothers and children. Nan’s performance will include historic information about the famous artist as well as a question-and-answer session allowing the audience to ask questions of both the artist and the actress portraying the artist.
