Dead Butterflies

The sound of screamo is always in flux, and there are some bands that attack that change more aggressively than others. Fort Worth’s Dead Butterflies has seven members, including songwriter Micah Zimmer, who is fresh out of high school. Born from skramz, the sound of Zimmer’s band is lo-fi at its core, but includes lots of electro, snippets of random almost jazzy-drum breaks, hardcore, shoegaze and more. Support on this bill includes some of Florida’s most interesting and boundary pushing alt-and-DIY artists including The Caution Children from Jacksonville, Orlando emo-pop band I.LiedToMyself, and Cheap Cult, which includes drummer Woody Bond and guitarist Christian Costello.—Ray Roa
