The public is invited to a free event commemorating Frederick Douglass and his important role in our country’s history. The event begins with a program about Douglass presented by Fred Hearns, Curator of Black History at the Tampa Bay History Center, followed by a performance by spoken word performer Nathan M. Richardson who portrays the great writer and abolitionist Frederick Douglass, as “Frederick Douglass speaks on Democracy.” Concessions available for purchase.
