Though he started as a banjo player as a preteen, a gig from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble was the gateway drug to Cummings picking up a six-string and eventually playing alongside the likes of B.B. King, Johnny Winter, and Vaughan’s band itself, following the death of its fearless leader. Cummings’ latest album Ten has plenty of ‘50s guitar licks, modern blues influence, and even a few acoustic-based tracks, many of which will probably be showcased at this intimate gig at the cozy Safety Harbor spot.
